Joining the Edmonton Geological Society
Anyone who is interested in geology and lives in the Edmonton area is invited to join the EGS.
Joining the EGS is easy using a secure online form or during an EGS meeting, field trip or event.
Membership Types
Member
Entitles you to
- attend meetings, including the annual general meeting
- discounts on EGS events
- vote on EGS resolutions and elections
- run for executive office
You must have an active
Geological Association of Canada membership to be a Member of the EGS.
Dues for members are $15.00
The EGS supports the Geological Association of Canada as a national
fraternity of geologists and appreciates the considerable services
provided by GAC including the opportunity to host distinguished
lecturers and insurance for EGS events.
Associate
Entitles you to
- attend meetings, including the annual general meeting
- discounts on EGS events
You do not need to be an active member of the
Geological Association of Canada to be an Associate of the EGS. However, you are encouraged to join GAC because they provide valuable support to the EGS.
Dues for associates are $15.00
Student
Entitles you to
- attend meetings, including the annual general meeting
- discounts on EGS events
Students are encouraged to join the EGS. Our meetings and events are great opportunities for learning and networking.
You do not need to be an active member of the
Geological Association of Canada to be a Student of the EGS.
Dues for students are $5.00
Honourary
An honourary membership is granted to geologists who have made significant contributions in their fields and have supported the EGS by volunteering their knowledge and time during EGS meetings and events. The EGS values the participation of geological experts.

At the time when Honourary membership is granted, the geologist must be an active of the
Geological Association of Canada.
